Hi friends and family! For at least two years beginning in August 2021, I will be serving the Lord as a missionary with Farm of the Child (known as Finca del Niño) in rural Trujillo, Honduras. This blog is an opportunity for you to follow along on this exciting new journey in my life! Farm of the Child is a catholic non-profit organization that promotes the healing, education, and spiritual formation of children in Honduras, specifically children that have endured heartbreaking neglect, abuse, and trauma throughout their young lives.
As of July 2023, I have been at the Finca for almost two full years, and I can happily say that serving as a missionary at the Finca has been the best decision of my life! Serving at the Finca has challenged me to become a better-version-of-myself every single day, and it has presented endless opportunities to simply love the person in front of you at every moment of the day. My two years at the Finca have been filled with some incredible highs and occasional lows, and the Finca has captured my heart in a way I never even deemed possible! Whether it's taking the Casas 2 y 3 boys to the beach, playing an endless game of tag with Casas 4 y 6, or simply stopping by for coffee with Casa 5, the true joy of our kids and entire Finca community is a sight that will never get old!
